Indications and action of Lioresal (Baclofen)
| Lioresal is a preparation, which lowers the tone of skeletal muscles. It relaxes skeletal muscles through a system of alpha, reduces excitability.Lioresal used for the treatment of neurological diseases involving skeletal muscle spasticity, it weakens the painful spasms and convulsions; increases of joint movement, facilitates passive and active motor therapy (physical exercise, massage).
Lioresal also has an analgesic effect, as a consequence, it increases the motor and functional patients’ activity, facilitates rehabilitation treatment. Lioresal used for the treatment of spastic states with diffuse sclerosis, and in certain states spastic cerebral origin, for the relief of flexor spasms and concomitant pain, clonus, and muscular rigidity. Contra-Indications: Psychosis, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, stomach ulcers and duodenum. |

Dosage :Usual prescription is a dose of 5 mg 3 times a day, every 3 days up to a full dose of 5 mg 3 times a day to a maximum daily dose of 60-75 mg. This provides a good portability dosage of medication. Intake with food.
