Pharmacological action of AVODART:
AVODART is double inhibitor of 5а-reductase. It suppresses activity of isoenzymes 5а-reductase which are responsible for transformation testosterone in 5а-dihydrotestosterone. Dihydrotestosterone is the basic androgen, responsible for prostate hyperplasia. The maximal decrease in concentration dihydrotestosterone in plasma is dose-dependent and is observed in 1-2 weeks after the beginning of treatment.
Indication for Avodart:
Treatment and prevention of benign prostate hyperplasia (reduces its size, improves urination and reduces risk of occurrence urinary difficulty and requirement in surgical operation).

Contra-indication:
Hypersensibility to inhibitors 5а-reductase or to any component of a preparation.
Avodart is contra-indicated for women and children.
Side-effects:
Impotence, ejaculation disorder, allergic reactions (skin eruption, itch, nettle-rash).
